WinX Free MP4 to AVI Converter is a video converter. It supports the conversion of MP4 files into AVI files, encoded using either DivX or XviD. This converter is very basic, and you won't find any extra features. But it works well, so you won't really miss them.
With this converter, and all other free WinX products, you can add one or many files to your conversion queue. There, you can set the application to convert those files to the format that you want. Although there aren't many settings, you can perform a good conversion by playing with the few available ones. You can change the video and audio codecs and their quality. I recommend sliding the volume bar down to 0, to prevent audio quality problems. As a sort of limitation, WinX restricts the formats that you can use as input files. For example, you can't add any high definition files, but regular MP4 files should open just fine.
I tested the application briefly with a simple MP4 file that came with a documentary. The file converted into a DivX file without any problems. The conversion process was quick and smooth.
